Breakout Sessions Information:

The Acceleration towards Digital and its Impact on Shared Print | Peggy Seiden, College Librarian, Swarthmore College, and EAST Executive Committee member

How has the current COVID-19 pandemic affected the shared print landscape? What are the opportunities at hand for shared print programs in the near future? These and other questions will form the basis of discussion during this breakout session. Attendees are invited to participate and share their own experiences.

Evolving the Paradigm of Shared Print | Alison Wohlers, Manager Shared Print Programs for UC Libraries and Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST) & Matthew Revitt, EAST

The coordinators from the California Digital Library (CDL), Center for Research Libraries (CRL), and HathiTrust will join EAST members to provide an overview of their organizations’ collaboration to define a new phase of shared print built on open and interconnected infrastructure and facilitate a discussion around how technology, shared workflows, and integration with local systems would benefit libraries and enhance the value and impact of their shared print efforts.

EAST Program Assessment | Susan Stearns, EAST

Join Susan Stearns for a discussion of the EAST Program Assessment preliminary survey results. The survey, answered by roughly half the EAST membership, will help inform EAST’s future directions and provide an understanding of how our member libraries perceive the program’s work up to date.

Collections Management | Sara Amato, EAST Data Librarian and Tony Fonseca, Director of Alumnae Library & College Archivist, Elms College, and EAST Executive Committee Member

Sara Amato and Tony Fonseca will lead a discussion on the role of shared print in collection management, with a focus on using available data to identify gaps in the collective collection.

Please note: The keynote and EAST update presentations will be recorded; the breakout sessions will not. The presentation slides and recordings will be added to this page after the event.
